Rolling Hills’ High School Ministry is designed to continue building on the biblical truths taught in Middle School. As our teens grow and own their faith, we want to provide them with many opportunities to actively grow in their spiritual maturity before leaving our ministry.
During high school years, the pressures of discovering who you are, what you want to do, how to put faith into action, how to use wisdom in relationships and how to handle more responsibility can be overwhelming. Our hope is to partner with parents to guide and encourage teens to actively live out their faith in everyday life and equip them with the spiritual maturity they will need to be successful in college and the world.
There are many ways to connect within our High School Ministry at Rolling Hills:
Every Sunday morning we encourage our High School students to serve the Body of Christ by using their gifts, talents, and abilities in the various ministry areas we have (Preschool, Kids, Middle School, A/V, Security, Greeters, etc.). We also encourage our students to Worship One/Serve One where students serve an hour and worship an hour—they have the freedom to choose which one. The first of every month we have a training class for our new High School students to prepare them for an area of service. You can contact Jenn Schaedel to sign-up for the class.
On Sunday nights from 5-6:30pm Backstage, we have a small group experience for our High School students. These groups are gender and age specific. With the experience, we provide a dinner for everyone. Our goal is to create an environment that encourages unity and conversation. After the dinner, students go to their group time. Our curriculum helps to develop and equip our student ministry with a deeper understanding of Scripture and how the story of Jesus Christ ties it all together. In every week and in every lesson, our students will encounter the gospel through the in-depth study of Bible, theology, and missions, with the view of seeing how all the Scriptures point to Jesus, and how the gospel has the ability to transform a student’s life. During their time in Small Groups, students will learn these core truths:
- I am created to pursue an authentic relationship with Jesus.
- I am designed to be an active part of a community who points each other to Christ.
- I exist every day to demonstrate God's love to a broken world.
Midweek Students is our weekly Wednesday night worship experience for students from 6-7:30pm. It is designed specifically to engage our teens and their friends through creative biblical teaching, fun games and inspired worship. As an optional time of fellowship for our teens we go to Chick-fil-a afterwards.
